Welcome to this article on foods that boost testosterone production, if you’re a fan of seafood and fish and are aiming to get a natural testosterone booster, then good news as fish and seafood makes a great addition to your diet as far as increased T goes.

In this article we are going to focus on some of the best sea foods and fish to include in your diet, for a natural testosterone booster and why they are foods that boost testosterone production. So let’s crack on with the list!

Oysters

As you may know Oysters are known to be a powerful aphrodisiac, this is Plate of oystersmostly due to them being extremely high in sex drive and testosterone increasing Zinc!

Just two average size oysters provides you with your recommended daily Zinc amounts.

Oysters are also a very good source of testosterone boosting vitamin B12, selenium, magnesium and D-aspartic acid. Lobster

Lobsters are a great source of testosterone boosting minerals, Selenium, Zinc and Magnesium. A good source of the natural testosterone boosters vitamin B12, omega-3 fatty acids which reduce inflammation and are a source of cholesterol one of the key building blocks of testosterone production.

Salmon Plate of salmon

Another commonly eaten fish among the “fancier” of you and certainly a treat for those of us who are less “posh”.

Salmon is considered food that boosts testosterone production due to its good levels of selenium, vitamin B12 and omega-3 fatty acids content.

Cod

Cod is probably the most commonly consumed fish in the west, it doesn’t have a common nutrition profile, it’s good source of the natural testosterone booster niacin (not that easy to get in your diet), our old testosterone boosting friend Vitamin B-12.

Crab

    I love seafood cooked or in sushi form. It’s great to know that it can boost testosterone, do you suggest eating any of this before a workout or after? 

    The reason I ask is that my energy level is always down and I feel maybe it has something to do with my testosterone.

      Hey Eric,

      Eating before and after both benefit you in terms being able to boost testosterone for improved workout performance/ results. If you find yourself low on exergy prior to a workout, I’d actually advise a magnesium supplement, it helps increase T production but helps your body in a multitude of ways and you will feel more energetic for it.

    I knew seafood was a good source of protein as part of a healthy diet when trying to build muscle, but I wasn’t aware of it’s properties in boosting testosterone production. I know fresh would probably taste better, but I wonder if frozen seafood has the same benefits or if any minerals are lost in the process? Also, is there a best way to cook or eat them to keep the properties intact? Thanks for the great info!

      Yep seafood is a great source of nutrients that help boost testosterone production. Frozen seafood should still be ok in terms of nutrients although it may not be quite as good as fresh.

      ideally you want to cook at a very low temperature, the same goes for all foods, that helps maintain as much of the nutrients as possible.

    Excellent article on testosterone boosting seafoods!  I knew oysters were considered an aphrodisiac, of course.  That said, I cannot believe this as fact yet because oysters are soo nasty!  BLEH!  I’m not much of a seafood fan, but even non-seafood eaters can enjoy tuna or salmon added to their diets, right?  I’m not a huge salmon fan, but it’s one of the few fish I could stand outside of tuna of course.  Thanks for the article.  It was interesting!

      Yeah I’m not a fan of the taste of oysters but the high Zinc levels alone boost testosterone and get engines revving so to speak.

      Yeah I’m not the biggest fish/ seafood fan in the world but they are definitely foods that boost testosterone production, with salmon and tuna being the more palatable.

    These are really nice suggestion I must say. Most guys when encountered with such problem go timid and down about it which result to low self esteem and some would go for drugs.     I have always heard that seafood is a great nutritional food packed with vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids but I wasn’t aware how well it naturally boosts testosterone.

    The only issue I keep hearing about seafood besides there being less and less of it in the ocean is that tuna has a lot of mercury. Got to be careful will tuna.

      Yeah you do need to be careful of the mercury, if your planning to have a diet heavy in seafood I’d advise keeping it varied and not heavily eating tuna as you rightfully point out.
