Daily Things That Lower Testosterone

So lets take a look at some more of the things that lower testosterone you may be doing daily.

We will also be looking at some alternatives you can consider, that won’t negatively impact testosterone production.

Drinking Alcohol

Beer

I can’t deny anyone the occasional alcoholic tipple; but what you need to know is that all alcohol suppresses testosterone production & is inflammatory.

The more alcohol that you drink, the greater the levels of suppression & the higher your levels of inflammation will be.

Higher inflammation means lower testosterone production, but also leads to a number of health issues.

So I definitely suggest only drinking on the odd occasion!  You will see your testosterone levels benefit & your health as a whole.

While I’m not encouraging you to drink alcohol, I personally like to occasionally have a drink, so I can’t fault anyone else.

The main advice I can give is to avoid all beers, ales and lagers as they are extremely estrogenic.

The best alcohol as far as testosterone production is concerned is clear spirits without mixers & red wine.

Skin Care Routine

moisturiser

I’m sure there are certain things that you do in terms of your skin care or skin routine on a daily basis.

Most people’s routines will include some/ all the below and perhaps a few more items:

  • Face Washes
  • Moisturisers
  • Anti Aging Creams
  • Skin masks
  • Eye Roll On
  • Lip Balm

The above products are manufactured with chemicals like parabens, SLS & many more are endocrine disruptors & chemicals that mimic estrogen.

So they negatively impact hormone production & are linked to lower testosterone production & negatively impacted wider health.

If you want to find out more about the risk that these chemicals pose to your testosterone production & health as a whole.

I suggest you check out the below article, you can also see all the different products, that contain these chemicals.

Chemicals That Lower Testosterone – Where Are They Found

There are brands that are manufactured without these chemicals.

There are two that I specifically use. These are Bulldog Cosmetics & Mancave Cosmetics which you can learn more about below:

Overdoing It In The Gym

Man Doing Weights

Your body becoming exhausted is one of the major causes of chronic high cortisol levels.

Suffering from consistently high cortisol levels is one of the major causes of lowered testosterone production.

So you need to make sure you incorporate at least one rest day per week and adequate rest periods during your workouts.

There have been a few different studies in to the effects of how overdoing it during your work out can lead to lowered testosterone production.

One showed that men who “felt the burn” & carried on working out, saw a 40% drop in T levels.

As I stated, you need to make sure you incorporate rest periods into your workouts.

When it comes to rest periods, research suggests that a 120 seconds between weight lifting sets is best to boost testosterone production.

Drinking Tap Water

tap water

I’ve previously brought up not drinking enough water and how being dehydrated is one of the major things that lowers testosterone production.

The irony is that you need to be careful what water you drink as well. The reason tap water is an issue is it can contain chemicals that lower testosterone.

Much like the chemicals found in skin care products, these chemicals are endocrine disruptors.

The main endocrine disrupting chemicals found in water you may be familiar with, they are fluoride and chlorine.

The best way to avoid these chemicals is to invest in a water filter.

You get different levels of filtering, not too shockingly the more you need filtered out, the more the filters are going to cost.

You standard filter will remove chlorine and most impurities, in order to remove chlorine though, you will need one of the higher end devices.

You can check out the different types of filters in this article here:
