Testogen Review: How it Works, Ingredients, and Proper Supplementation

My Testogen Reivew: Is The Popular Testosterone Booster An Effective Supplement?

Find Out The Truth Below!

Testogen Bottle

Testogen is one of the most popular testosterone boosters on the market. Does it deserve it’s popularity though? In short, I’d say about 70% yes. There are some question marks that  come with Testogen as well though. Testogen is safe & is a fairly effective nutrition based testosterone booster supplement.

When used in conjunction with the right diet, exercise and lifestyle. It can help you to naturally increase testosterone production. As a result aid in building muscle mass and losing body fat. This is all safe in the knowledge that Testogen is legal. It also isn’t banned in a professional environment & sporting competition.

How Does It Work?

Testogen is a nutritional based supplement. So unlike TRT or anabolic steroids, it doesn’t synthetically increase testosterone levels. It actually contains a blend of herbs, vitamins & minerals to help increase the bodies natural production of testosterone. When you have increased/optimized testosterone production. It benefits your body and health in a multitude of ways. This includes higher muscle mass & lower body fat but. There is so much more to optimized testosterone production though. Including the following.

  • More energy
  • Increased confidence
  • Reduced risk of depression
  • Reduced risk of stroke
  • Faster reaction times
  • Higher libido

High T vs low T

As Testogen is all-natural & nutritional based. It can take a few weeks to start seeing benefits. You may also see other health benefits. This is as deficiencies in the nutrients that the Testogen testosterone booster provides can cause multiple different health issues. So you may see other benefits as well!

One thing I would like to clarify is that as a nutritional supplement. Testogen will aid testosterone production if you aren’t already getting the ingredients or enough of them in your daily diet already. I do recommend that supplements are the last area you focus on. First, you should focus on your diet & lifestyle. If you want advice on optimizing your diet and lifestyle for better testosterone production & health. Ways To Naturally Increase Testosterone

Testogen Ingredients

As I’ve mentioned already. The Testogen testosterone booster is all natural. It’s free of any illegal substances or substances banned in sports. All the ingredients are vitamins, minerals & herbs you can get in your diet. It’s just that most have some deficiency or don’t get any at all. That is why the Testogen testosterone booster can be effective!

Magnesium (200mg)

Food sources of magnesium

Magnesium is a fairly commonly found ingredient in supplementary complexes, including testosterone boosters. It is a mineral that those with a Western diet are quite often deficient in. Magnesium is responsible for over a thousand functions in the body. This includes the regulation of sex hormone production.

Magnesium plays a vital role in ensuring that the body produces enough testosterone. This becomes even more important as you age. This is as magnesium levels tend to drop. Testogen uses a highly absorbable version of magnesium. So you get a good impact from each dose.

Korean Red Ginseng 4:1 (40mg)

Ginseng extract

Asian or Korean Ginseng, has been used in Eastern medicine for centuries. With one of the applications being stress relief. Testosterone & the stress hormone cortisol are very closely linked. When you are stressed. Your body produces high levels of cortisol.

Higher levels of cortisol inhibit testosterone production. As Panax ginseng can help reduce cortisol levels. It is perceived as an effective way to help optimize testosterone. This is why it’s been added to the Testogen testosterone booster ingredients.

Bioperine 95% Piperine (5mg)

Bioperine

You may have seen bioperine in other supplements. It doesn’t directly raise testosterone production. It does however facilitate nutrient absorption. This means you biologically make the most of the ingredients that make up Testogen.

Fenugreek 4:1 (40mg)

Fenugreek Extract

Fenugreek you may recognize as an ingredient in curries. It is believed to have a number of different health benefits. With fat loss being one of the big ones. When it comes to testosterone. There are studies showing it helps increase testosterone levels in men. They also have shown increases in strength & lowered body fat. Research suggests this is due to Fenugreek reducing enzymes in the body that lead to aromatisation. Aromatisation is the process where testosterone is converted to estrogen. So Fenugreek is definitely a good addition to Testogen.

D-Aspartic Acid (2352mg)

Food sources of D-aspartic Acid

D-aspartic acid is an ingredient found in the majority of reputable testosterone boosting supplements. This is with good reason. It is an amino acid that aids hormone production. This includes follicle stimulating hormone & lutenizing hormone. These are the hormones that stimulates the production of testosterone. In studies, D-aspartic acid has been shown to increase strength, fertility, libido muscle mass & testosterone production quite significantly.

Zinc (10mg)

Food sources of Zinc

You will find zinc is the backbone of many Testosterone boosting supplements & immunity supplements. Much like Magnesium, Zinc serves several purposes in the body and & is a vital mineral for health as a whole. Approximately a third of people are deficient in Zinc.  Zinc deficiency is one of the major causes of low T. Studies have shown that supplementing with Zinc for 6 months when deficient can as much as double your testosterone production. Testogen uses an easily absorbed form of zinc. This means the body utilizes it easily & more efficiently.

Boron (8mg)

Avocado

Boron brings a multitude of healthy benefits. It has been shown that supplementation with boron aids testosterone production in several ways. First is it lowers levels of SHBG. This is a protein that binds testosterone. When SHBG levels are lowered you have more free testosterone. This means you have more testosterone that your body can utilise.

Boron supplementation, leads to higher levels of vitamin D3. If you aren’t aware, D3 is a pre sex hormone & your body needs it in order to produce sex hormones. It is also a vitamin that people are commonly deficient in. So increasing D3 levels is a massive benefit.

Finally, boron lowers inflammation & levels of aromatization. Aromatization is the process where the body converts’ testosterone to estrogen. Boron supplementation lowers the aromatization activity levels. In studies, this has been shown lower estrogen by as much as 39%. That gives you an idea of how much T you aren’t getting converted as well!

Supplementing boron is extremely important. As the chance of you getting enough in your diet is extremely low. Avocados are one of the best sources of boron. You would have to eat about 9 avocados daily to get enough boron. So you can see why supplementing is pretty much a necessity.

Vitamin D3 (50mcg)

Hand around sun

Many people refer to vitamin D3 as the “sunshine vitamin”. If you live in a county where you don’t get much sun exposure. Supplementing is necessary for wider health, including testosterone production. On that note. It probably won’t surprise you that the majority of people in the West get less vitamin D than they need or are even deficient.

When it comes to testosterone production, vitamin D3 is vital. As the active form of D3, acts as a steroid & pre sex hormone. This is why it is believed to boost testosterone production. There have been a multitude of studies looking at the effect of Vitamin D on testosterone production. Essentially all studies have shown a positive correlation between Vitamin D3 supplementation & improved testosterone production.

One study that stands out, is a 12-month-long one. They found that men who supplemented with Vitamin D3, saw an average increase in testosterone production of 20%. So D3 is a vital element of testosterone production. Therefore equally vital as an ingredient in a testosterone booster supplement. In fact you will find D3 in pretty much every top level testosterone supplement

Vitamin B6

Food Sources of B6

Vitamin B6 is required for over 100 different body functions. It plays a crucial role in your wider health. One of those processes B6 is involved in is testosterone production. Studies have shown that vitamin B6 deficiency is linked to lower testosterone, increased estrogen & high prolactin levels.

These then have a “knock on” impact & will lead to even lower testosterone levels. The other benefits you will likely see are as follows.

  • Increased blood flow
  • Increased energy
  • Improved memory
  • Reduced risk of developing man boobs

So B6 is definitely a good addition to the Testogen testosterone booster.

Vitamin K1 (20mcg)

Food sources of Vitamin K1

Vitamin K1, gets turned in Vitamin K2 in the body. Which is linked to increased testosterone production in two different ways. Vitamin K2 provides you with Menaquinone-4. This is the compound believed to enhance testosterone production in the testes.

The second is that K2 has a synergistic relationship with vitamin D3. Supplying the body with enough vitamin K2. Allows the body to utiliz vitamin D stores more effectively.  As we know, vitamin D3 being utilized more efficiently means higher testosterone production.

Where I feel the Testogen testosterone booster lets itself down is, that it provides vitamin K1 as supposed to Vitamin K2. Other testosterone supplements like Military Muscle provide you with K2. That is always going to be the better option. It’s still good that Testogen has K1 as supposed to no vitamin K at all but K2 is best.

Nettle Leaf Extract 4:1 (40mg)

Nettle Leaf Extract

You more than likely will know this as stinging nettle. Even then it’s probably not something you associate with improved testosterone production. Stinging nettle can help increase T by binding itself to a protein called SHBG. This helps increase T as SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) binds itself to testosterone making it unusable.

So by nettle leaf binding to SHBG. It means you have more free testosterone. Which is then more testosterone that is actively usable by the body. That is why Stinging nettle is included in some testosterone supplements. Including the Testogen testosterone booster.

Testogen Side Effects

In terms of side effects, Testogen presents very little risk. Especially in comparison to steroids or even TRT. Your largest risk of side effects using Testogen is if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. There is also a minimal risk of “overdose” on any of the ingredients.

The volumes from Testogen aren’t high enough for you to overdose. So you just need to be cautious of if you are taking other supplements & what they may contain. Even in the worst-case scenario and you did “overdose”. The side effects will be pretty minimal! The more extreme side effects you could potentially face are.

  • Bloating
  • Headaches
  • Trouble falling asleep
  • Digestive issues
  • Stomach pain
  • Diarrhea

Even then there is a slim chance of this & the symptoms tend to disappear as your body adapts. If you  experience side effect & continue to do so. I would advise you drop your dosage to 2 capsules a day and give your body a bit more time to adapt. In the even more remote possibility that doesn’t work. I’d suggest stopping altogether!

Testogen Usage, Dosage & Application Forms

Testogen Drops

The company that manufactures Testogen advise that you take four capsules per day. That & they suggest the preferred time to take is in the morning with food. If you fast, I wouldn’t worry about taking in the morning & just take after your first meal.

To see results, you do need to make sure that you are taking Testogen daily. On that note. I just want to reiterate that it will likely take at least a couple of weeks you for you to start seeing result. I would advise that you take Testogen for a minimum of two months for you to see the optimal results. Final thing is. That the manufacturer do recommend taking a break for a few weeks after you take every two months.

We’ve mainly spoken about Testogen being a pill supplement. But fairly recently they started manufacturing drops as well. which are now available for sale. The drops have a slightly different ingredient list & customers report they have experienced them working near enough immediately. A number of people have also said the drops are great to take in conjunction with their standard supplements.
